RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)

What is

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)

?

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is an encrypted protocol used to access remote computers or networks securely. It enables users to remotely control and manage a computer from a different location, as if they were physically present in front of the machine. RDP works by authenticating the user with public keys and sending encrypted commands across a network that can only be decrypted with the corresponding private key on the remote computer or server. RDP is commonly used for secure remote access, secure file transfer, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). In terms of cyber security, RDP is one of the most reliable protocols for ensuring data confidentiality and integrity during remote access sessions.
